Amazon secondary images

Lifestyle images for the rest of your Amazon gallery.

Your main image has to be a real photo on pure white, and it should stay that way. The images after it are where shoppers picture the product on their own counter, shelf or desk. That’s the job these scenes do.

Main image
Yours: a real photo on white. I don’t make main images.
Secondary
Lifestyle scenes of your exact product

Against your photo: shape, color, parts, proportions

From $39, fixed packages
The seller's photo: a cognac leather card holder on a white windowsill.
Delivered scene: the same card holder on a walnut desk with a notebook, brass pen and espresso.
Drag to compare. Same stitching, same thumb notch, same cognac tone.

Where AI scenes belong in a listing, and where they don’t.

Main image
Amazon wants a photo of the actual product on a pure white background, filling most of the frame, without text, props or logos. AI scenes don’t belong there, and I don’t make main images.
Secondary
Here context is welcome: the product in use, in a room, next to things that show its size. Shoppers can’t pick it up, so these images answer “what will it look like at home?”
Accuracy
Every image in a listing has to show the product as it’s sold. That’s why each scene is compared with your photo part by part. If a detail drifts, I redo it free, and if it can’t be made faithful, the scene is swapped.
Kept out
Amazon badges and logos, third-party brands, people, and claims the product can’t back up.

Check the current rules. Amazon’s image requirements differ by category and change over time. The version in your Seller Central account always wins over this page.

Three jobs a secondary image can do.

The blue serum bottle on a marble bathroom counter with a fern.

Show where it lives

A bottle on a bathroom counter, a candle on a shelf. The setting tells the shopper which room the product is for before they read a word.

The sage mug with coffee and a croissant on a kitchen counter.

Show it in use

Coffee in the mug, a card in the holder. Use is shown through the scene and the props, without hands or models.

The leather card holder in an open kraft gift box on green linen.

Show it as a gift

A gift box or a winter table ahead of the holidays, without a new shoot each season. Swap the image, keep the listing.

What scenes can’t do: prove exact dimensions or replace a detail close-up of the real product. Size charts and infographics with measurements aren’t part of the packages, and measurements should always come from you.

Sizes, in plain numbers.

Scenes
928×1152 px in 4:5, plus a 928×928 crop. Amazon enables hover zoom from about 1,000 px on the longest side, so use the 4:5 version where zoom matters; the square crop is just under it.
Not for
The main image, 4K, print, and A+ Content modules with fixed wide formats.
One product
Each package covers one product in one color. A second variant with the same contents costs 80% of the package price.

Same fixed packages as the main studio.

For a listing, Basic is often enough: four scenes for the slots after your main image. Full contents, extras and ordering are on the studio page.

Amazon questions.

No. Amazon’s main image has to be a photo of the actual product on a pure white background. Use your own product photo there and the scenes in the secondary slots.

Amazon’s image rules are mainly about what an image shows: it has to represent the product you actually sell. That is what the fidelity check is for. Rules differ by category and change, so check the current product image requirements in Seller Central before you upload.

That’s the point of the check. Every scene is compared with your photo part by part: shape, color, parts and proportions. Anything that drifts is redone free and never counts as a revision. Products with small printed text on them are the hardest case; if a label can’t be kept exact, the scene is swapped.

Finished creatives with a headline and up to four USP icons are part of Standard and Premium, set as an overlay, never generated into the image. Copy comes only from your product facts. Measurements and size charts aren’t part of the packages.

Not by default. Scenes are product-only. Use is shown through the setting and props, like coffee in a mug or a card in a holder.

Your main image usually works: the whole product in frame, sharp, evenly lit. A good phone photo in daylight is fine too. One product per package, and only photos you own or may use.
